About First Practice
Welcome to 1st Practice in East Yorkshire, where we look forward to providing you with high quality dental service with our prime commitment being preventative dental care.
In dentistry, prevention is always better than the cure and protecting your teeth minimises the amount of dental treatment you should need. We are dedicated to providing regular check-ups and hygienist visits for our patients.
We believe that frequent visits to the hygienist provide the basis for improved dental health. Our dental practice in Hessle provides the friendly, caring and professional dental service you need.
Stuart Osbourne

Stuart is the owner of First Practice. He has worked in Hessle since 1980, and moved to the current premises on Boothferry road in 2006.
Over the last 40 years Stuart has developed a very loyal patient base with many still registered at the practice from when they first saw him.

Sarah Hague

Sarah has been working at First Practice part-time since graduating in 2003. She has recently completed further studies, obtaining a degree at the University of Central Lancashire.
Joanna Capes

Dental Nursing, Hull College (1996)
Joanna joined the practice in 2014, after teaching the National Diploma in Dental Nursing for 10 years at Hull College.
Joanna also acts as an examiner for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses and takes part in examining the practical skills of dental nurses twice a year for the National Diploma examination.
Melanie Black

Melanie joined after finishing school at 16. She qualified as a dental nurse in 1992 and worked full time before leaving in 2006 to have a baby girl. She now works part-time, enjoys chair side care and has a good relationship with patients.

Jodie works in both the reception and surgery, thoroughly enjoying excellent rapport with patients whilst making them feel comfortable. She also takes responsibility for all the day-to-day administration at the practice.
Jennifer Lloyd

Dental Nurse (2011)
Jennifer joined our practice in December 2016 and qualified as a dental nurse in 2011. She worked in another dental practice for 7 years but was looking for a change and new challenges as part of our team. She enjoys working chair side and is also responsible for the emergency medical equipment.

We are dedicated to providing regular dental examinations and hygiene visits for our patients. We believe prevention is always better than the cure as protecting your teeth minimises the amount of dental treatment you should need.
We aim to treat you with respect and courtesy and help you make the best use of the services which we provide. Advice on treatment will be based on clinical need and we shall explain our findings, treatment and advice. We shall maintain strict confidentiality and personal information will not be given to family members without your permission.
